We are looking for a kitchen assistant (m/f/x) with a strong dedication to taste

voco™ Brussels City North in Vilvoorde is looking for a kitchen assistant (m/f/x) with a view to a fixed contract.
A taste of your day-to-day

You assist the Chefs in the various kitchen activities. You do the mise-en-place for the hot and cold dishes from the daily menu and for the dishes à la carte. You prepare hot dishes and sauces. You roast meat, fish and poultry.

You make every meal a feast for the eyes and a delight for the taste buds. You prepare and finish dishes according to order. You arrange and garnish dishes on plates. You respect the portioning of the various meal components.

You step in for colleagues during peak periods. You help with dishes and other kitchen tasks where necessary.

You work cleaner than clean to meet or even exceed cleanliness and hygiene laws. You clean up after the service. You check and process food surpluses. You check the quality and freshness of the products. You ensure hygienic storage and preservation of the foodstuffs
What we require of you

You can work 38 hours a week in a continuous work schedule from Monday to Sunday.

You preferably have an education in the kitchen or you preferably have at least two years of experience in a relevant position.

It is a physical job where you are on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important.

You have basic reading, writing and math skills.

You are a real food lover, you are easily approachable and you know how to turn problems into opportunities.

Location
Our hotel is located at Indringingsweg 1 in Vilvoorde. If you come by bike, we provide a covered bicycle shed. If you come by public transport, you can easily reach us by bus and tram because there are several stops nearby. If you come by car, we have a staff car park.
